ACAS Model Workplace
Free and easy to use, the Acas Model Workplace helps you to check how good your organisation is at people management - from recruitment to performance management.
Presented in short modules, you can complete as few or as many sections as you want to. And after completing a module, you'll be a given a rating for how effective your current practices are, along with useful advice and links to resources.
You will need to have installed Microsoft Silverlight to use the Model Workplace. Download it from the Microsoft Silverlight website.
 

The Equality Act 2010

ACAS have produced guidance for The Equality Act 2010 which will become law in October 2010. It replaces previous legislation (such as the Disability Discrimination Act 1995). Among a number of changes, the Act limits the circumstances when employers can ask health-related questions before they offer the individual a job. BBC You & Yours
Back in May, BBC Radio 4 You & Yours revisited the topic of mental health and the workplace and, focussing on small businesses and the effects of the recession, included an update on Mindful Employer signatory Andy's Kars who were featured in a programme in May 2009. In a second edition, the programme also looked at staff working for the NHS and included an interview with Margaret Barrett, who leads the NHS Employers 'Open Your Mind' campaign.
